Position Summary:

As a Service Technician with Hesco Services you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and inspections of conveyors, hoists, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.  If you are someone who loves to work and learn with their hands,  has the ability to gets things done quickly, safely; has a strong mechanical aptitude; ability to make good technical decisions; solve tough and complex mental problems; fast learner; stellar customer service skills; strives for continuous improvement of work processes; set priorities then drives hard and fast to achieve them then we want to hear from you!  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily perform Electrical and Mechanical maintenance on automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  • Perform assigned tasks to include, but not limited to, Dematic, Intelligrated and Hytrol package sort systems.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system
  • Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches
  • Sets up and operates metal working tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Education/Experience: 

  • High school diploma/(GED)
  • 3 years of related mechanical and electrical experience with some troubleshooting experience
  • Relevant knowledge of warehousing/distribution, pallet rack design, material handling equipment etc., is a plus!

Qualifications:

  • Perform the installation process abiding by all OSHA, DOT, and site-specific safety precautions
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude along with basic welding and fabrication skills
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record
  • Must have U.S. Work Authorization
  • Must be able to pass background checks and ongoing random drug screenings
  • Knowledge and ability to properly utilize a variety of hand and power tools
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations both within the company premises as well as on customer’s jobsites, including client specific on-site training
  • Utilize sound decision making and problem-solving practices
  • Has experience with rigging and lifting equipment with cranes, forklifts, telehandler, etc.
  • Proper and safe use of company vehicle, comfortable towing and backing up trailers as well securing loads with chains or straps as necessary
  • Work efficiently with others
  • Quick comprehension, flexible and punctual
  • High standard of quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited direct supervision after training
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and subcontractors
  • Capable to comfortably work at heights on scissor lift, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
  • Maintain work area and vehicle in clean and orderly condition
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge in the use of computers and basic data entry skills 
  • Positive attitude and ability to comply with company policies and procedures
  • Consistently maintain the highest standards in serving the customer’s needs
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by acting professionally and as a representation of the Hoj values
  • Ability to work on-call rotations
  • Willingness to travel if necessary and work occasional overtime hours

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and work for long hours with necessary tools and PPE.
  • Able to perform physical labor including lifting/moving heavy objects up to 100 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and reaching
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various year-round weather conditions

Job Type: Full-Time, M-F (7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
