Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a fleet of forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet riders and other lift trucks
  • Perform repairs and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment such as forklifts, diesel and gas engines, LP systems, motors, and hydraulic equipment
  • Welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing of mechanical equipment preferred
  • Perform Service Calls and Preventative Maintenance inspections on customers lift equipment
  • Diagnose and perform repairs as needed
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to defective parts
  • Work with parts department to obtain parts and technical information needed to repair equipment
  • Accurately complete tablet work such as work orders, timecards, support information, etc. on a timely basis
  • Operate lift trucks and equipment as required
  • Maintain a service van and its inventory
  • May assist in the installation and service of other material handling equipment
  • Comply with all safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift mechanic experience or relatable background in industrial, heavy equipment or automotive mechanics preferred
  • We’re willing to train the right person with strong mechanical aptitude

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in electronic, internal combustion engines, mechanical and hydraulic repairs
  • Must be able to read codes, instructions, and electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Work efficiently with others
  • Quick comprehension, flexible and punctual
  • High standard of quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited direct supervision after training
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and vendors
  • Maintain work area and vehicle in clean and orderly condition
  • Positive attitude and ability to comply with company policies and procedures
  • Willingness to travel if necessary and work occasional overtime hours
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by acting professionally and as a representation of Hoj
  • All personnel will be governed by DOT rules when operating company vehicles
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record (CDL preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and work for long hours with necessary tools and PPE
  • Able to perform physical labor including lifting/moving heavy objects up to 50 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various year-round weather conditions
