IT Help Desk Technician

We are seeking a qualified IT Help Desk Technician to assist our team members with questions and problems concerning computer systems, hardware, and software. This will be an in-office position located at company headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT.  The technician will work with our employees on-site and from remote locations, to guide them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency.  Standout candidates will be excellent problem-solvers with outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Objectives of this role

  • Provide quick and effective assistance with information technology systems
  • Guide employees remotely and in person through systems configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance 
  • Listen attentively to employees’ questions and concerns and offer optimal solutions
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction in all communications, directing unresolved issues to next-level personnel
  • Work with desktop support engineers to provide employees with superior service
  • Represent HOJ Innovations with professionalism and integrity while helping to advance our company mission

Responsibilities

  • Respond to tech inquiries via email, online chats, over the phone, or in person
  • Inform employees about IT products and services
  • Walk employees step-by-step through the problem-solving process
  • Help with troubleshooting hardware and software
  • Follow up with employees to ensure satisfactory service
  • Communicate customer feedback to the appropriate internal team members

Skills and qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and experience troubleshooting hardware and software
  • The ability to break down technological processes and deliver clear, step-by-step instructions

  • Tech savvy, with experience working in a tech-related field
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues

  • Self-Motivated and Eagerness to learn new technologies and systems
  • Experience working as an IT help desk technician or in a similar customer support role

Required Experience

1 - 5 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting the following:

  • Networking Switches, Routers and Firewalls
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (i.e. Windows 10/11 Pro)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Server Hardware Technologies and Virtualization Software (HyperV / ESXi)
  • Microsoft Active Directory, SQL Server (2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022)
  • Remote Desktop/Terminal Services / VPN Connectivity Support
  • Data backup and Recovery Support
  • Microsoft O365 (Azure AD, Email, SharePoint, etc)

Job Type: Full-Time, M-F (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Salary: Depends on Experience
